Today my son and I went cycling around Boracay and ran into the worst flooding I’ve ever seen on the island . Just check out the above photo’s . What a mess . The two streets which are flooded are important beach access roads that are literally under water for hundreds of meters and at a depth of two feet . I feel sorry for all the businesses along these two roads as flooding has ruined their business , as only the brave are willing to walk through the floods. Times are already tough with the economic slump around the world, but when you factor in millions of liters of rain water , the times just got a lot tougher.

The Philippine Tourism Authority(PTA) spent millions of peso’s in 2005-2006 building an island drainage system along all the roads of Boracay ,and for the most part it’s a good system , but somehow today along these access roads , the flooding is worst than ever .The problem I suspect is the construction of many new  resorts which are filling in the  land before they construct  but are  forgetting to place proper drainage pipes under the foundations .The water cannot pass through these new resorts so it’s now getting trapped in the low lying areas . The only way right now for the water  to disperse is by using water pumps and pumping it into the sea or up to the Main Road  drainage system .

To resolve this flooding problem I guess more money must be invested to fix the remaining floods on Boracay Island in the beautiful Philippines .I hope the PTA moves quickly investing millions more to improve the drainage along these access roads so the local businesses can survive , so the island could keep its reputation as world class , and so any water diseases would be kept in check .It’s a project worth every peso to prevent future floods from destroying property and lives .

Many customers having fun dancing on the different levels/tables at Cocomangas Shooter Bar ,Boracay.

Having a blast on table number 12 , dancing , drinking ,and grooving to the latest songs at Cocomangas.

Cocomangas Shooter Bar , located on Boracay Island in the Philippines is in the bar business, but our main concern is making people happy . My eldest son(who manages the bar and is doing an excellent job ) refers to Cocomangas as an adult playground.Our playground might not have slides or swings , but the Cocomangas playground has alcohol ,stages , and platforms . I counted over twenty different platform levels where every night tourists and locals can jump up to dance ,dance, dance, … Cocomangas is a bar you can go to with friends any night of the week to drink , party , and generally have a blast. As long as it’s clean fun and it makes the customers happy , we don’t mind if you jump all over the furniture.

I get great satisfaction looking around the bar seeing so many people dancing and having so much fun at their tables. . Every Cocomangas table can be used as a private dance area and many choose to dance at their tables to avoid the crowded dance floor.It’s quite a sight when all twenty different levels/tables at Cocomangas all full with dancing holiday makers.I love seeing all the smiles and laughter that Cocomangas brings to so many people .
