May 20, 08 brings another full moon to Boracay .At Cocomangas Shooter Bar we like to celebrate every full moon with pumping hip hop/ house music to the early hours . At 11 p.m. is the “still standing after 15…”speed challenge where we ask three customers to volunteer from the bar to try to be the fastest to drink 15 shooters .The “still standing after 15 …” is a hardcore mix of 15 different  shots with names like Screaming Orgasm , Test Tube Baby ,Canadian Prairie Fire ,and famous shots like the B-52 .The three volunteers will compete against each other and the main rule of the game is to drink quickly without any spillage down the sides of the mouth .The crowd at Cocomangas will be screaming their favorite contestant . Good times as always.

Each contestant will receive the famous “still standing after 15…”t-shirt , and their name will be engraved on the wall of fame at Cocomangas Shooter Bar , and the winner will receive P 1,000.00 cash .Come check it out if you’re on the isalnd . When you think of Cocomangas Shooter Bar , what comes to mind . Let’s see . When i say I love the off season , I’m referring to the hot summer months ,March , April, and May ,changing into the cooler ,wet, rainy season of June, July ,and August , and with that brings the big black clouds over White Beach . The contrasting colors are truly amazing to look at from White Beach, Boracay.The white sand color blends into the turquoise blue  water , which blends into the big dark black  clouds which gather at the horizon.The black clouds are being forced toward the island by the strong habagat winds ,bringing decent surf to the White Beach. Add to this picture kite boarders from around the world performing tricks and catching air off the small surf .

Now you can understand why i love it here so much .Every sunset is different . Everyday beach life is  different.Should i take a paraw sailing for an hour , or should i get more physical and play some ultimate Frisbee ,or beach football (soccer ).After so many years of living the Boracay dream , i  love the island life more than ever   ;the wind , the fresh air , the seafood, the beach ,the people,the sunsets, the good times ;all to good.

As far as tourists are concerned there is no off season and  Boracay is one busy island twelve months a year catering to thousands of daily arrivals .The Koreans are a huge market and likewise the Filipino’s travel a lot.Some months 15,000 Koreans visit the Island .

Over the past year the airline industry has taken off at Caticlan Airport (the gateway to Boracay)servicing Seair Airlines , Asian Airlines , Cebu Pacific ,Air Philippines , and now this May another player, Pal Express.  If you haven’t been to Boracay lately then you’re in for a few changes .Interesting fact :the Sunday of Holy Week Caticlan Airport had fifty-six flights flying in over 2700 passengers. Some good projects  like the Caticlan Jetty Port(entry point to Panay Island ) and Cagban Jetty Port (entry point to Boracay), making the arrival more organized .At least i don’t get my feet wet on arrival anymore , not like the old days when the boat stations were located along White Beach
